As my 2nd semester is wrapping up, I have been getting tons of work.
I have sooo much to post here, about all my latest art work and things I have been up to.

I am even making my own website for my Visual Computing class. All very exciting.

The life of an art student is crazy, exciting and fun!
Only a little over a week, and I have 4 months of summer.
When I get there I will update everything that I haven't yet to post.

Here is a snippet of the beginning of my website!

Welcome to Pooh Corner Memories!

It's been a while since I have posted, I have all sorts of stuff to write about...
But I just wanted to post this up...

I always love looking back on the things I had in my childhood. Especially the TV shows I watched.
Winnie the Pooh is one of my favorite stories.
And I remember watching this puppet version of it, but I could never remember what it was called.
I was pretty sure it wasn't a dream, but you never know.
Then tonight something inspired me to look up on Wikipedia Winnie the Pooh, and see what information is on it.
I found out many new things I never knew about!
Then when I scrolled to the bottom to see what movies and tv shows there have been I saw the link for "Welcome to Pooh Corner" it sounded so familar. When I clicked it there it was! One of those shows I grew up on right before my eyes!
And I instantly found it on youtube!

Let me share my memories with you!

and look up more about Winnie the Pooh and the show if you are curious.

My adventure through....

During my Spring Break I will be taking an adventure in North Carolina.
It first started off with having to fly 2 hours in a plane.
When we were driving our rented car it started to smell like burning rubber and we had to go swap it.
Taking 2 hours to get to the hotel. And now I am going ready for bed.
Tomorrow I am cutting my hair where I got it cut before school started. It's a very strange cut so I don't trust anyone else to do it but them. Yes, I am coming all the way from the North down to the South to get my hair cut... sounds odd. Luckily I have an excuse, the 2nd half of this week I am spending with my brother who go to school here.

Not only am I getting my hair cut, I might finally get my tattoo!! I have been thinking about it most of the school year what I really want! I don't want to go into detail now, but it I really get it I will post a picture and explain the reason behind it!

Well I am off to sleep so I can wake up bright and early to get my hair all prettied up!

Alice in Wonderland the Tim Burton Experience

I didn't go to the premier showing, but I did get to enjoy the movie with friends. Which made the experience even better!!
We all dressed up and had fun!
I wore my Alice outfit from halloween, just didn't do the creepy version.

I absolutely love the movie! Tim Burton definitely brought his twist to the classic tale and made it gothic/romantic in it's own sense. My favorite character, even though its quite obvious, is Alice Kingsley. The actress is perfect and the character is really brought to life.
Of course I loved all the other characters, the one that I wasn't that found of was the door mouse. When I picture the door mouse... it is some what more... "drunk". But that is my ideal image of it, but everyone has their own opinions.
And the scenery is absolutely beautiful and breath taking. I really wish I could be like Alice and fall into a rabbit hole. Going through all the strange adventures of this magnificent world and fight the Jabberwock. Become friends with the maddest of people, since I am quite mad myself. My curiosity is strong, and it would bring me great pleasure to expand it into this world.
My imagination can run quite wild, but sometimes when you think and believe in the impossible it might become real!

So from now on I will think of 6 impossible things in the morning/before breakfast, and maybe one day they will all come true!
Maybe I should start posting everyday the 6 impossible things I come up with. Who knows...

It's a little stupid but I got one of those stupid chain mail text messages saying "if you send this it to 10 people your wish will come true." And in the back of my mind... I was like why not! It probably won't come true, but what the hey. If it comes true I will let you all know how Wonderland is ^.O

Well this is my little segment about the movie. Tim Burton is deff my favorite directors, he is truly a magician. The movie was incredible and I am going to see it a couple of times before it leaves the theaters. Totally pulling a Lord of the Rings 3 (aka when it came out in theaters I saw it 3 times).
Well tata for now! I am off to get lost in Wonderland.

New Youtube Account

I have created a whole new youtube account. I believe starting a new one will create new opportunities, plus for all my old embarrassing videos will be put to the past. This is more about the me now, Paige the Art Student! Though old habits never die, of course I will talk about anime conventions and cosplay!

So subscribe to it! Keep a look at all my creations! And what anime stuff I will be doing!

Though it will be similar to this blog, it's just a different approach!

This is my Wonderland.

Chibi Usa...

When I was in elementary school my first anime was Sailor Moon. My friend who was like an older sister to me introduced it to me and it literally became a weekly ritual to watch. When I had hard times the show really helped me make it through a bad week.
Not only did I watch it, my friend created a fan fiction of Sailor Moon combined with Pokemon. Myself, her and her friends became the sailor scouts/princess of the planets. In my head this was my life.
I have always been an odd one, and always wanted to belong to another world.
I looked up to the Sailor Scouts and my friend.
The character though who I loved and connected with Chibi Usa or the english name Rini.
Pink was my favorite color and she was the youngest of everyone. I was the youngest in the fan fiction.

And I find out now as I have met other Sailor Moon fanatics most of them really didn't like her. I found it really weird, but everyone has their own opinion.

I found this youtube video, it is a very sad AMV (Anime Music Video) of no one caring for Chibi Usa. A lot of my childhood I felt this way so this brought up many memories. So I dedicate this blog to Chibi Usa (yes, an anime character), Sailor Moon, my childhood and my friend CJ.
This is what truly saved me!

I hope to cosplay her in her evil form and maybe an older version of her.

This is my fine beautiful morning.

I might not be feeling so great, but as I was on my way to the lady's room I turned around for a second and noticed this majestic view of my dorm room. It's messy, but it looked perfect for a shot! Especially with the lighting!

A better video...

I realized I have iMovie maker!!! So this one will be a lot better! Enjoy!

This song is not mine!!! It's by the singer Kerli.
What the painting is based off of!!!

It's still a work on progresss!!! No judging right now...
And my teacher said we can't do actual objects!! I swear!!

Video to my painting...

I did the first part of my painting today. Now just waiting for it to dry a little before I add more layers to it.

I decided to record myself doing it... I am hoping to find a program that will actually let me play music to it, but for now here is what I've got!

and here is the photo of the first round!

This fine beautiful morning...

It's another beautiful day in the city and I have another mini migraine! Oh the joy! I decided to make a lovely photo of myself describing how I felt!
How I did this:
First I took this photo with my application Photo Booth.
Then brought it into Iphoto where I tweaked it around with brightness, color, and blurred the background.
Then I downloaded it to this amazing website called where I added some random icons to express the stress and annoying headache.
After I finished I downloaded the finished image onto my desktop.
I reopened it in CS4 Photoshop where I resized it to a larger size that didn't make it to pixilated.
And tada!!

I hope the pain will go away. I have many things to do today!

I need to start on painting homework, but I need to go to the art store to get blue and white paint.

My homework is expressing a painting through a song. And not to use specific objects in the painting. There can be shapes though (like circles, squares, triangles, etc...). The song I am going to base it off of is "Walking On Air" by Kerli

There's a little creepy house
In a little creepy place
Little creepy town
In a little creepy world
Little creepy girl
With her little creepy face
Saying funny things that you have never heard

Do you know what it's all about
Are you brave enough to figure out
Know that you could set your world on fire
If you are strong enough to leave your doubts

Feel it
Breathe it
Believe it
And you'll be walking on air
Go try
Go fly
So high
And you'll be walking on air
You feel this
unless you kill me
Go on
And you're forgiven
I knew that
I could feel that
I feel like
I am walking on air

She has a little creepy cat
And a little creepy bat
Little rocking chair and an old blue hat
That little creepy girl
Oh she loves to sing
She has a little gift
An amazing thing
With her little funny eyes of hazel
With her little funny old blue hat
She will go and set the world on fire
No one ever thought she could do that

Feel it
Breathe it
Believe it
And you'll be walking on air
Go try
Go fly
So high
And you'll be walking on air
Find More lyrics at
You feel this
unless you kill me
Go on
And you're forgiven
I knew that
I could feel that
I feel like
I am walking on air

Flitter up
and Hover down
Be all around
Be all around

You know that I love you, go on

Feel it
Breathe it
Believe it
And you'll be walking on air
Go try
Go fly
So high
And you'll be walking on air
You feel this
unless you kill this
Go on
And you're forgiven
I knew that
I could feel that
I feel like
I am walking on air

I am walking on air x3

Music video:

I have many ideas so far for the project! I can't wait to start... now if this head ache would go away!!! T.T

What's happening so far with my painting...

So I have been working on my identity project in my painting class. Sadly I have been sick lately and have either been late or absent a couple of times. So I have been coming in on the weekend, which I will need to do this weekend >.<

Here is what I have so far! Don't worry, some of the things I will need to do won't be too complicated...

The first one was my water color of what's going on outside of the tea house through a round window.
Then I have created a door, the wood frame is oil paint and the ominous male figure is made of acrylic.
I will be putting over it japanese paper for the door paper. I need to make the male figure darker though so it's more visible.
I also have painted the mat floor with oil paint.

The most complicated part will be painting the outfit of the male, japanese version of me, plus placing the photograph photo of my face. I can't wait!! I will be cranking the completion of this project this weekend!!

Wish me luck!!

Infrared CS4 Testing

I am in the need of purchasing an IR camera! I am going to enter in a student art contest and want to present photography.
Laurie Klein, a photographer who I am very close friends with, uses an IR camera.
Check out her blog!

Let me actually take a moment out to talk about my experience with Laurie Klein:
I've always loved photography. I took a class in my high school but there wasn't much hands on learning to use the camera. The teacher told us to shoot, but they weren't there by my side to really teach me. I am one of those people who need one on one teaching to actually understand what I am suppose to learn. I met Laurie at one of her mentor exhibits. I saw how incredible the students works are, and knew I had to meet this woman! I personally got to know her, she is a breath of fresh air and truly inspirational. I felt extremely comfortable with her and I knew she understood who I am and what were my needs.
I finally was able to take some classes with her, and that's where I finally learned how to use my camera properly, haha. She also taught me to be braver when photographing models. There is a major difference in my photography since I have met Laurie.
I am now at SVA, and a Fine Arts major. I plan to do mix media art, and incorporate my photography. Thanks to Laurie, she really made me feel confidant in my work and not let go of my camera no matter where life takes me!

That's my little spiel... now on to the topic of this blog, haha.

I love what IR does to photographs and I really want my own.
For the contest we are given a quote and set of rules. For the quote I came up with a great idea, but in order to push it I need the camera.
Incase I can't get the camera in time I have searched online for different methods of manipulating photos in Photoshop CS4 to look like IR photos.
It took several tries, but I finally found the best one. I will keep searching but this one works the best.

Here are some of my photos I manipulated using this method.

Canon Power Shot G9

Canon Power Shot G9

Canon 50D

I prefer the quality of the real camera, but hey, this was fun to test around with.
But this was fun anyways!
Cross your fingers that I get the real thing!

Oh Alice!

So this year I am pretty much obsessed with Alice in Wonderland (as you can tell by my Blog Title)
I have always loved the story but some reason this year the passion is bigger!!
My x-roomate and I bought alice in wonderland dolls (they are very anime-esk and girl versions.)
I got Alice and she got the Mad Hatter.
this is with my alice in wonderland book V

For halloween I dressed up as Alice (but an evil/porcelain doll alice)
I have made 2 paintings involving Alice.

Got a couple of shirts for x-mas and other accessories.
Reading mangas with the Alice in Wonderland
Plus super ecstatic for the new Tim Burton Alice In Wonderland!!!

Personally Alice is my favorite character. Many don't like her though because she can tend to be annoying... but I don't know... I really like the concept of her. Plus I have made up my own version of her.
From reading a book and listening to a song.
Book: Nightlife (Cal Leandros, #1) by Rob Thurman

Find out more about the book:
At one point in the book the main character hears some type of singing coming from a mirror. He mentions it's like Alice is trying to reach out to him. Sadly I don't have the book to quote. But at one point he see the monster in the mirror. I loved the details.

Song: Still Doll Kanon Wakeshima (A japanese song that is the opening for the very popular anime series "Vampire Knight")
This is the english translation:
Hi Miss Alice
With your glass eyes
What kind of dream
Can you see?
Are you fascinated with?

My heart tears
And drifts
Stuck in the patched crevices
Are memories

Hi Miss Alice
With that fruitful lips
To whom does love
Is cast away?
Is lamented?

I spin my words
Feverish tongue
Has turned cold
The song to love
Can't be sung either

Still you do not answer

I love this song. And the music video is incredible as well.

With this, it's like Alice is still trapped.

Pretty much my theory is Alice might have actually never escaped from Wonderland. She is still wondering around and now has become a monster. My image of her is like a porcelain doll. Her eyes though are monstrous (where the white is it's now black and the iris is yellow) and all her teeth are like sharp, deadly fangs. (I got this image from the book).
I brought this idea to life for halloween. (except for the eyes, that would've been impossible!)

It was a lot of fun doing the make up and wearing big doll lashes. Sadly the lighting is terrible in the shot. And my teeth fell apart T.T but this is the idea.

The reason I started this post was because today I saw a new commercial for the Alice in Wonderland movie!!
And it made me fall in love with it more!! I can't wait!!

I love that it's actually her as a teenager, and that she has returned! I had no clue till today. It's going to be even better than I thought.
Version with Johnny Depp interview that I saw on TV:

And I have been reading all the Alice In Wonderland mangas.
Boy Alice in Wonderland ((this one is ok, but still like it. it's a little weird. and yes there is shounen-ai. aka. BL))
Are You Alice? ((this one is really awesome and little more horror. just how I like it))
Alice Turn Back Clock
Alice in Underground
Alice Unlimited Wonderland

And my favorite right now.... Heart no Kuni no Alice
I didn't know though this one actually is an Otome Game. I just found this on youtube!
It makes me sooo happy! Though I will never be able to play it since it will probably remain only in Japan T.T
So I will enjoy my manga version of it and hope for it to become an anime!!!
((where to read these mangas go to ))

So I believe this is my longest blog so far. But I had a lot of fun with it.
You will probably see more of Alice stuff in the future on this! But for now this is the sum up of it!

Nude Models and Drapery

In my drawing class we practiced drawing drapery. It was fun and my teacher said she really liked my technique, which made me feel like I was on top of the world! (drawing is my weak point).

And we drew a male model with drapery on him. Now we have only drawn females so this was something totally new to me!
I had to keep improving this drawing, but I think it was a success for the first time.

I had fun drawing some detail with body hair. And when I was bored I drew some wings and other random things on him!

So that's it for now!

Why hello there!

I guess this is my first blog... not quite sure what to write.
I know I should be asleep so I won't be dead for my class >.<
Especially since I am doing a huge project!

I guess I can fill up some space and talk about that.

So right now in my painting class our project is "Identity".
We can use whatever material we want.
Pretty much we need to show an identity of ourselves in the project... wow... I am terrible with english.
It can be realist, historical, or imaginary.

I am one of those people who believe in reincarnation and past lives. I have had several.
My last one I believe I was a gay japanese male. Weird, but as my blogs go on you may see why. Haha.

So pretty much I am making myself into a japanese guy! (might sneak the gay thing at
some point, but let's make it simple)
I am still figuring out how to do it. Last week I practiced photo transfers onto water color paper and raw canvas. I am hoping to put a photo of myself and then some how transform myself into a guy.

Here is the transfer onto raw canvas.
How I transfered it was using the all natural cleaning product Citra-Solv.
I first used a lazer printed photo of myself then placed the pigment side down on
to the raw canvas. After that I poured the Citra-Solv down onto the back of the photo and lightly dabbed it and smoothed it down. Then let it sit for a while until it is absorbed into the raw canvas.

I hope for the actually painting (which by the way will be 50 by 60 inches) works

Well I am done for tonight. Next blog I may explain more stuff, or just start anew! Who needs to dwell on the past! haha.
